The appliance has 500 W and the measured surface temperature (on an empty plate) reaches 360 °C at the maximum control setting. This is definitely sufficient for making espresso.
An espresso cooking process (in a suitably sized espresso pot) is normally completed after a maximum of 7 minutes. Important: the espresso pot must have a base diameter that matches the heating plate. If you use a pot that is too large, this can impair the heating performance.
