Whether a classic cast iron hotplate or an induction hotplate is more suitable for you depends on where and for what you want to use the hotplate.
Cast iron hotplates are very robust and durable and are suitable for all types of cookware.
Compared to induction, cast iron hotplates take a relatively long time to heat up. However, they store heat for a very long time. Cast iron hotplates require regular maintenance and are not as easy to clean as glass ceramic hotplates.
INDUCTION COOKTOPS have a glass ceramic surface and are extremely quick to heat up. Disadvantage: Induction hotplates do not work with aluminium or copper cookware. Induction hobs have a fan inside that emits a noise during operation - some people find this unpleasant.
CERAN COOKTOPS with HiLight® technology are suitable for all pots and pans, have an extremely robust Ceran® glass surface and use HiLight® technology inside. This type is faster than a cast iron hotplate and as easy to clean as an induction hotplate. Some models have 2-circuit heating elements so that small and large pans can be used optimally. (e.g. model CT 2203/TC or CT 2200/E).
