For potatoes and fillings with large quantities of cold liquids, a pressure cooker (as with MeinHans) is actually more about convenience and high energy savings than speed. A 1000 watt appliance simply cannot heat as quickly as a 2000 or even 2500 watt hotplate
This is because it can take some time for the cold water and cold potatoes to heat up before the actual cooking time begins. The cooler the food in the pan, the longer the heating phase takes.
We can give the following TIPS:
- Always peel the potatoes
- Cut large potatoes in half
- 650 ml of water is also sufficient for a full potato load
