We do NOT recommend vacuuming a plastic cup (nor a glass container unless it is extremely roibust!) inside the film. The vacuum sealer creates a very high vacuum and will likely crush or break the cup, squeezing out the contents. You can manually end the vacuuming process prematurely (i.e. not completely remove the air), but then the contents will not be reliably vacuumed either, as too much air will remain in the bag due to the cup.
Here are two alternative suggestions for preserving baby porridge:
- If you pour it hot into sterilised jars that can be sealed airtight (preserving jars), the porridge should keep for a few days in the fridge.
- Or you can fill the cold porridge into small preserving jars and vacuum seal them by placing the sealed jar in a special vacuum container (e.g. VCK 150) and placing it under vacuum. The jar inside is also vacuum-sealed.
We definitely advise against vacuuming in plastic containers."
