The inner lid is made of anodised aluminium. The main reason for anodising is to protect the aluminium. Thanks to the process, the corrosion resistance is increased and the material remains beautiful/attractive for longer. Anodising creates a hard, wear-resistant layer that protects the aluminium underneath.
