You can check whether a pan is suitable for induction by holding a magnet to the base of the pan. If the base of the pot is magnetic, the pot is generally suitable for induction. However, the thin bases of stainless steel pots in particular often cannot be operated at maximum power and the hob may even display an error message. Enamelled pots are more efficient.
