The grill plate lock on the KG 2020 is designed with a classic spiral spring. This design is durable, tried and tested over many years, standard on the market and also comparatively inexpensive, which is very important for an entry-level contact grill. In addition, the mechanical clearance also allows the temperature sensor, which is mounted under the grill plate (and also with a spiral spring), to rest precisely against the grill plate. This means that the temperature control can ensure the right grill temperatures - and also act as effective overheating protection. The height adjustment is spring-loaded via a small bracket solution, which also has the necessary clearance so that it can be used comfortably and with virtually no effort. This is so important because the catch (which is clearly audible) has to hold securely and users naturally don't want to spend unnecessary time in close proximity to the hot grill plate.
