The EKO 364/E can also be filled with ground coffee beans instead of espresso beans. Coffee powder is normally ground a little coarser than espresso powder, so that the hot steam pushes through more quickly and the finished beverage is not as strong.
In general, the decisive factors for the flavour of a coffee from an espresso pot are:
Coffee type + grind + coffee quantity + water quality.
(The appliance itself has no direct influence on the flavour or consistency. It brings the water to the boil until the resulting pressure forces it upwards through the grounds and collects in the coffee container).
If you prefer not to drink such strong coffee instead of espresso, you should therefore experiment a little with the grind of the coffee and the amount of water (the finer the grind, the longer the water takes to pass through, the more flavour particles - including bitter ones - are released).
