Unfortunately, the physical effect of static charge (= frictional electricity) cannot be completely ruled out with a coffee grinder. The interaction of different materials creates a charge (charge separation) that is transferred to the ground coffee. However, this effect is very complex and the strength of this charge depends on many different factors.
To our knowledge, the moisture and fat content of the beans as well as the type of packaging have a significant influence. Several customers have already made similar observations about other appliances, namely that the static charge is primarily related to the type of bean. Whereby industrially processed beans are "affected" significantly more often than beans from small roasting plants.
