The stone plate is a natural product. The advantage over coated grill plates is clearly the absolutely chemical-free surface of the stone, on which the food to be grilled can be cooked. As with any natural stone, discolouration cannot be ruled out - especially when oil and heat interact, as is the case when grilling. Despite the final polishing of the grilling surface, the surface of a grill stone of this type is and can never be absolutely free of pores, so that the penetration of liquids and grease into the surface of the stone cannot be ruled out due to the physical expansion of the stone when heated - with subsequent discolouration due to the grilling temperatures of the stone. After using the grill plate several times, you will notice a much more even, homogeneous appearance and a general darkening of the stone grill plate with regard to the darkening of the direct grill surface. Subsequent light greasing with subsequent heating of the stone can also reduce the strong colour differences.
