The side walls of the interior are embossed to accommodate the drying trays. These indentations are produced by so-called ‘deep drawing’. However, deep-drawing stainless steel is much more complex than sheet steel. Stainless steel, for example, is more brittle and can crack quickly when subjected to heavy forming. For this reason, the inner walls of the dehydrator, as well as those of household ovens, are usually made of sheet steel. Sheet steel parts are galvanised as corrosion protection.
